Hey there! I’m so glad you stopped by—thanks for taking a moment to get to know the guy behind the camera. I’m Jonathan Kalala, originally from the heart of Congo and now calling the U.S. home. These days, I’m finishing up my degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering at The Ohio State University (Go Bucks!), all while running my photography business on the side.
I know, engineering and photography might seem like an odd mix—but for me, it makes perfect sense. Engineering challenges my mind, while photography keeps me grounded and creative. What started out as a way to unwind has grown into a true passion. Over the past few years, I’ve invested in my craft, studied the art, and had the honor of capturing everything from graduation milestones and couple sessions to family portraits and weddings.
Each shoot is a new opportunity to connect with people and tell their stories in a way that feels real, intentional, and timeless. That’s what drives me—creating a space where you feel confident, seen, and celebrated.
Outside of photography and engineering, I’m a huge music lover, an occasional songwriter, and someone who just enjoys the little things—like long walks with my camera or editing with some good vibes in the background.
